Bishop John and Pastor Darlene Jackson were excellent leaders who dared to reach out into their community through love, prayer and a heart to see souls saved. God had ordained Bishop and Pastor Jackson to be soldiers for His kingdom, and they worked together diligently in accordance with God’s will for almost four decades.
Bishop was the visionary that answered the call of God on his life to pastor and start the Community Chapel of Christ Church. He had a passion for people that was very apparent to others. His amazing ability to make everyone feel special in his presence was a gift that God used to draw many to Christ. He served in this ministry with everything he had and he encouraged others to do the same. This dedication would inspire other spiritual leaders to follow his example in their own ministries.
Additionally, he made education a priority. He encouraged members to pursue both secular and Christian education. It was his belief that one can go further and see clearer with a well-rounded education. Alongside Bishop Jackson, was his wife, Darlene Jackson who served as a prayer warrior first lady in this a small, family church. Because of her prayers many souls were saved, many lives reclaimed, many miracles took place, and many yolks were broken.
Pastor Darlene Jackson was known as the rock that kept the ministry going through intercession, great tenacity and a business mind. She was also known for training women how to be spiritually and naturally strong yet delicate in ministry and at home. Most of all, she modeled wisdom, holy living and dedication unto the Lord. She also taught women’s purity classes that educated young women of God on how to submit body, mind, and soul to the Lord without compromise. She was a visionary in her own rights. She saw a need over 20 years ago to encourage young people to continue their education by establishing Scholarship awards and services. She single handedly raised money to award each high school graduate with a scholarship toward undergraduate expenses.
Pastor Darlene was preceded in death by Bishop Jackson who went home to be with the Lord on June 8th 2010. After his death, she continued to serve the Lord with purpose and obedience as the Overseer of the Community Chapel of Christ Ministries Church. There she carried the torch and continued to reach, teach and prepare the next generation of leaders to carry on the legacy of holiness, service, sacrifice and the vision of Community Chapel of Christ. She honored the Lord Jesus Christ and served Him until the day of her transition from this physical world on February 4th, 2013. With the help of the Lord, we now will continue to carry the torch of our leaders and keep the legacy alive.
